"THIS" Conservative Government - 2006-10-13
Watching the news today I noticed that the current conservative government representatives referred to the government as "this government".
I also noticed the press referred to the government as "this government".
I've also heard opposition party representatives referred to the government as "this government".
Even the public has been heard to refer to it as "this government".
It appears no one wants to take ownership of the conservative government. It wasn't long ago that, love them or hate them, Canadians referred to the government as "our government".
Hopefully, after the next election, we'll once again have a government that won't embarrass us so much that we won't admit ownership.
